Happy 3rd Birthday, Amelia Joy!!

Amelia,

I sit here thinking to myself, "how in the world is my baby three years old?"

I've truly enjoyed watching you go from a teeny-tiny baby to the little girl that you are today.  So far every stage has been my favorite stage.

Just a few things that I love about my three year old:

You're one of the funniest people I know.  You're constantly making me laugh.

You're so smart.

You love to play dress up.  You'll go from a ballerina to a pirate to a chef, or as you call it a "cooker/baker".

You love to pretend.  You have the biggest imagination and I love listening to you play.

You love your baby dolls and stuffed animals.  You care for them as though they're as real as can be.

You love to help me in the kitchen.  Baking is your favorite and you have no idea how happy this makes me.  I love this time with you.

You love to dance.

You LOVE church.  Sunday is your favorite day of the week because you know you get to go to Journey Kids.

You love to give/receive gifts and surprises.  I'm thinking this is one of your love languages because you're always coming out with a box full of things that you've gathered in your room and say, "I HAVE A SURPRISE FOR YOU!"  You stand there just waiting for us to say we love it.

You love to draw/color/create.

You're constantly pretending to play an instrument and you love to make up songs.  You're starting to make words rhyme in your songs and it's the cutest thing ever.

You love to laugh.  You'll say silly things to make us laugh and will just fall over giggling.  You can laugh at yourself and I hope you'll never lose that.  It will get you through many embarrassing moments in life. Trust me. :)

You say that everyone is your best friend.  You will have just met someone and they're immediately your best pal.  I hope you will always make each and every one of your friends feel as though they're your bestest friend.

You have a style all your own and I hope that never changes.

You're incredibly affectionate.  You love to hug and give kisses.

You have the best memory.  You love to bring up things that we did in the past and the things that stick with you are just funny to us. The things you talk about are so random and we're always surprised that you remember.  Right now you're constantly telling us the number of our condo that we stayed in on vacation. Out of the blue you'll say, "our condo is #2!"

You have a huge heart.  You're always saying, "I'm going to save this to share with Pey-Pey, Laila, and Mika" and you're quick to say you're sorry when you've done something wrong.

You love to help with anything and everything.

You love your family.  You talk about your grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins, all the time.  Daily.  You're always asking when you'll see them.

You're the best big sister.  You love Sydney so much and have never acted jealous of her.  You just want to take care of her.  You're her little-mama. That's your Aunt Joy in you.

You love to have a party.  Doesn't even have to be your party - you just love to party.  You love icing and balloons.  You love to sing Happy Birthday to people.  When we talk about planning a party you just light up.  It makes my heart happy.  Because I love to plan a party too. :)

I just love everything about you, sweet girl.  You're my best little girlfriend.

Three years ago today, at 1:01 AM, you made me a Mommy for the first time.  You're a precious gift that I will never take for granted.

You are true joy and your family loves you so much.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Amelia!

Love,
Mommy

My Very First Picnic...

Today was a beautiful Saturday, the high was only around 86 degrees!  Much cooler than the 110 degree temps this summer has brought us.  We're so ready for Fall!

We usually go to Mimi's for brunch every Saturday, that's our thing, but since it was such a beautiful day we decided to go for a picnic at the park.

It was one of the things we put on our summer time list and had yet to do!  Looks like the only thing left now is story time at the library. :)

We picked up boxed lunches from Jimmy's and headed to the park!  Amelia had a hot dog and fruit...her favorite thing in the world.  I had the turkey swiss guac on a wrap with a twiced baked potato...YUM!  Alex had some sort of man sandwich, it contained lots of beef tenderloin served on a hoagie roll. Sydney had her favorite, 6 ounces of Gerber Good Start, stirred not shaken.

Amelia was so excited.  She kept saying, "this is my very first picnic!"  We pretend to have picnics at home every day but we've never actually gone somewhere, put down a blanket and had a meal.  Which is why we put HAVE A PICNIC on our summer time list. :)  We'll definitely be doing this more often once fall weather is here.

We let Amelia pick the perfect shade tree and then started in on our lunch!

She enjoyed watching the cars drive by and rolling all over the blanket.
She would also say, "I hear birds...I hear birds!" (LOL)

Smiles all around!

As Amelia says, "this is our fam-a-wee."

Me and my girls.

Our Sydney Faith.
It's near impossible for her to smile without her mouth being wide open.
I love this baby so much.

We headed to find a fishin' hole after lunch.

The only way to fish is with a pink barbie fishing pole.
Amelia caught a big one!

Telling her sister about her ginormous catch!

We ended the day at Haagen-Dazs.
We were hot and in need of some ice cream.

It was a lovely day.

Love to all,
