Christmas Candies

Every year I have good intentions of sending goodies to Alex's work around Christmas. Something always seems to happen and I never get around to it, so yesterday while little miss Amelia was sleeping - I started on some Christmas candy! I made buckeyes. These are my favorite to make at Christmas. Even though mine aren't really buckeyes because I cover them completely in chocolate, but oh well. I found these cute boxes at Hobby Lobby, the day after Thanksgiving. They are like huge matchboxes. They would be perfect for cookies but I was making buckeyes, so they are perfect for buckeyes.

I got all fancy-pants and put each one in a liner.

Stuck a label on each box and Ta-Da!

Now I need to get on making some things for my neighbors - another thing I always plan on doing at Christmas! :)

And I can't end this post without showing you this face. We were headed out the door and I just had to snap a pic of her in her hat and sweater. Don't you think she looks a little like me in this pic? Just humor me and say yes. I'm going to post some baby pics of me and see what you all think. Either way, she's my dollbaby. I love this girl!!

Love to all,

Jill, I also want to know how you get your buckeyes to have chocolate covering the outside with no flaws. That candy looks delish!

  7. I am officially inspired. I think it's time for peanut butter balls and sugar cookies over here. We'll see how that goes! I'm still wrapping presents.

  8. alright, those boxes are too cute. Wish I had seen them at our HobLob... I always do some Christmas baking, too, and this year found the cutest Christmas print liners to put individual cookies or candy in, and after seeing how cute yours turned out, I cant wait to use mine next week! And YUM...I love me some buckeyes! :) But nothing is as sweet as that baby girl who DOES look so much like you in that picture! :)

  10. I think she looks like you in that pic. Those look so good. I make buckeyes too, but mine look like buckeyes since I'm from Ohio... LOL. I've been on a baking/candy making spree too. I did fudge, buckeyes, and hard-rock candy today. I'm sure your goodies will put the jingle in everyone's mood this season. Happy holidays!!
