A Baby Shower For Sydney...

My sweet LG gals gave me a baby shower on Monday evening. They brought Sydney some diapers, wipes, lotions, baby wash, etc.

My friend, Heather, made this cute onesie and tutu...I just love it!!

They also made this book and each person wrote something to Sydney in it - such sweet words and prayers for our baby girl. So special. I love this group of ladies so much. We share our lives with each other, pray for one another, encourage each other, laugh at/with each other. They're a blessing in my life. I'm very thankful for sweet/thoughtful friends.

I made buffalo chicken tacos again last night...they're just so good and easy to make. We'll probably have these every week. :)

I tried a new recipe for Apple Cherry Oat Bars. I've been wanting to make these for a couple of weeks now. They were yummy! A few changes I made/will make next time: I only used all purpose flour in the recipe because the two stores I went to didn't have almond flour, I added fresh lemon zest to the recipe, and I will leave out the allspice all together next time - it's just too strong for my liking. The bottom and topping were SO GOOD and I loved the tartness of the dried cherries in the filling. I'll make these again and will probably change up the filling every so often too...you could use any fruit that you like best.

Happy Wednesday!

TGIF...

I asked several people which cups they recommend that are truly spill-proof. Pretty much everyone said there is no such thing. I've started buying some of the ones recommended and so far - this is Amelia's favorite. She thinks she's so big to have a cup with a straw. She's not allowed to drink out of this one unless she's in her high chair or sitting on the red rug.

That's our deal.
She sticks to it.
We're both happy girls. :)

We hosted homegroup last night. This is what I made for dinner.

I mean called in for dinner.

The spicy veggie was my favorite.

Joy came over yesterday morning. She brought a pan of brownies so I shared them with my homegroup. They were so good. We had vanilla ice cream too. If you're making anything other than Ghirardelli brownies - just stop.

Alex has the day off today. If you could see my face while typing that sentence...I'm beaming!! A day off is precious to us. They are few and far between. I'm going to enjoy the day/weekend with my family of three. I think we'll have brunch at Mimi's and then run some errands together. Oh, and it just started snowing at our house! It's so pretty. Amelia is still asleep but we'll take her out to see it when she wakes up. :)

an alex & jill production...

I received a couple of things in the mail today and wanted to show you how cute they are...I just LOVE them! I was holding out to see if I won Natalie's baby shower giveaway before ordering the things that I really liked. I didn't win, but my S-I-L did! I was happy that someone I knew won such an awesome giveaway! There were things that I loved and had already decided that I wanted little miss A to have and today I received one in the mail! The onesie on the left is one of the things that I ordered. It says, "an alex & jill production" and below that it reads "1st edition." How cute is that!? I also received a couple of gifts from friends. One from my friend, Jules. She gave me the hot pink photo album with A's initials on it. I've already started printing off some of my belly shots to put inside. Thank you, Jules...you're the best! :) And the cute little t-shirt on the right is from my blog friend, Elaine. I started crying when I read the shirt. That passage of scripture is engraved on my heart for eternity. If I read it once, I read it a thousand times over the past 3 years, and it brought me such hope! Thank you, Elaine...I LOVE IT!

I had to share pics of my friend, Holly's kiddos. They are so cute. Holly had me and her sis, Rachel, over for lunch this week. They are two of my favorite people. One minute we were laughing, the next minute we were crying. I need to apologize to Holly...for using most of our lunch as a Q&A time about everything motherhood! HA! She has a sweet little boy and twin girls...here they are. These baby girls were so precious!!

And this is their big brother...he was cracking me up!

I wish I had thought to take pics of Rachel and Holly! Oh well...next time. :) Thanks for a wonderful meal, Holly. You can cook for this pregnant girl anytime!

Love,
