What's Going On...

It has been forever and a day since I last blogged. I've been nauseous. Very, very nauseous. Pretty much from the time I wake up until I go to bed. I've also felt like I could sleep all day long. Taking care of my girl takes every bit of energy that I have right now. I know this will pass, so I'm just trying to make the best of it until it does.

I had a little scare last week. I woke up with bleeding and cramping. My doctor asked me to come in so he could check things out. He couldn't find the heartbeat so he ordered an ultrasound immediately. They found the heartbeat as soon as they started the ultrasound. Music to my ears. The baby was perfect. The ultrasound showed blood under the placenta - that's what's causing the bleeding. No worries. So thankful.

Amelia had her ENT follow-up appointment. She's had her tubes for 6 months now. She wouldn't let the ENT look at her ears until he checked her baby's ears (which he thought was pretty funny). He played along and looked at both of her baby's ears and then she agreed to let him look at hers. Both tubes were still in place - no signs of coming out any time soon. She hasn't had an ear infection since getting them, so I want them to stay in as long as she needs them.

She did so well at the doctor so we celebrated at Mimi's over some scrambled eggs.

After leaving Mimi's we went to Target to pick out a new toy. She chose a Minnie Mouse handbag and glasses. She makes this face every time she wears them. She looks like a little old lady. Makes me laugh.

We made a quick trip to my parents on Friday evening and then drove back on Saturday night for church the next morning. The Hogs played on Saturday and WON!! Amelia wore her Razorback dress to church on Sunday. Sweet girl.

I need to do a pregnancy post...I'll be in my 2nd trimester soon! I feel like I already look 4 months pregnant. Every one has told me this is normal with your second pregnancy. Good to know.

Biggest news of all...Amelia has gone two days without her paci! I decided last week to cut a hole in the top of it. She chews on it and then hands it back to me saying "I no like it." If she goes this entire week without it - she gets to go to Build-A-Bear at the end of the week. I know her paci has been such a comfort to her while sleeping. Now she sleeps with three of her babies and that seems to have taken the place of the paci. My baby is growing up. I'm so proud of her!

Preparing for Easter...

I love Easter. I remember when I was younger, Easter was the one holiday that you had to have a new dress. Whether my Mom made it or we bought it - I always loved wearing my new dress on Easter. I remember one Easter (I wish I could find the pic!!) - I was wearing my new Easter dress and paired it with some jelly shoes and tights.

I can't remember if that was the year that I had the borderline mullet or the orphan annie perm.

Either way, I was stylin'. HA!

So I'm 33 years old and Easter is still the only holiday that I really feel like I should have a new dress. :) Our church is very casual (no matter the occasion), so this is the dress that I chose for Easter this year. I have to find the perfect shoe before Sunday. I have a closet full of size 9's and none of them fit. My foot went up to a size 10 when I was pregnant and has only gone down a half size. So for right now, I'm a 9 1/2. I'm still hoping and praying that my foot goes back to it's normal size. There are a lot of cute shoes in that closet that I want to wear!!

I have a little green jacket that I'm going to wear over it. The jacket has a white lining with blue polka dots.

I love a cute lining.

I love this dress too. It's so comfy and has pockets. Pockets rock.

Here's Amelia's Easter dress. It's actually sleeveless, so I'm putting her "Laverne & Shirley sweater" over it. Her Aunt Fecia gave her this little white sweater that has her initial in white. Very subtle and so cute. :)

And as for Alex. He will probably wear a button down, sleeves rolled up (the man always has his sleeves rolled up!) with jeans. Yes, we are that casual at our church...it's one of the things I love about it.

Come just as you are...suit, jeans, shorts...we don't care. And neither does God. :) Won't be long and it will be warm enough for him to preach in cargos & flip flops.

I'm so not kidding.

We vacation in Destin and I swear I hear God calling us to start a church on the beach. Every year this happens. One day maybe Alex will hear the same call. HA!

This is Miss Amelia's first Easter basket. I ordered it from Pottery Barn Kids. They had a small & large one. This is the small one and the perfect size. I can't imagine how big the large one would have been!

One day, she will actually be able to carry it and hunt eggs with her cousins. :) Since she can't have candy, she's getting a Peter Rabbit DVD, Veggie Tales Easter DVD (she has a Veggie Tales library and didn't have this one yet :), the books "What Little Girls Are Made Of" and "Princess Baby", a couple of Little People Easter toys, an Easter rabbit-ducky for bath time, a new pull-toy for her car seat, & a new pair of silver shoes for spring!

I purchased some of these things 2-3 years ago. I put them away for this very day - the day that I would have my own little chick on Easter. Makes me praise the Lord all over again!! One of my blog friends made the statement yesterday, that she was working on a painting for her future nursery and asked if that was crazy. I found it to be totally normal. I didn't know when God would give me a child, but I knew He would in His perfect timing. My buying things for a child that I didn't have yet - that was me believing that He would one day give me the desires of my heart. The desire to be a mother.

I'm so thankful to be a mother, but even more thankful for what Easter is really all about. God sacrificed his only son to die on the cross for my (AND YOUR) sins. As a parent, just think about that for a minute. I mean...WOW!!! What an amazing love He has for us, His children. I have to admit, I love you guys, but there is no way I could sacrifice my sweet Amelia like that. PRAISE HIS NAME, for dying on that terrible cross and PRAISE HIS NAME that He rose again on the 3rd day! An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!!!

Have a blessed Easter.

Love to all,
