Mommy Boot Camp...

I haven't turned on my computer in over a week, but things are gradually getting back to normal around the Averitt house. Amelia is getting better each day. She was put on an antibiotic for the ear infection that really upset her stomach. I was changing her clothes at least 4 times a day because of it. She then developed a really bad yeast infection from it, so they changed her antibiotic and called in some miracle cream for the yeast infection. The rash is gone, but we still have an upset stomach and runny nose. I have only taken her to the doctor and through the drive-thru pharmacy in the last week. Since she's still having an upset stomach, I just hate to take her out and then have to clean up an accident somewhere other than my home. She is back to her normal sleep schedule though...she slept 12 hours last night!

I do have something exciting to report. Amelia started crawling this week!!

I've had a really bad headache for three days now. I went to the doctor yesterday and he thinks it's either sinus or a migraine. He gave me meds for both and if that doesn't fix it, he's ordering an MRI. I don't think I will need the MRI. I honestly think it's stress related. It has been a hard two weeks with very little sleep. I can feel the tension in my back and neck. I know that I've been a mother for a little over 9 months now, but I feel like the last two weeks have been a true test of whether or not I was going to make it as a mother. It has been like Mommy Bootcamp around here. (LOL)

One thing that I hate about going to the doctor is as soon as you walk through the door, they put you on a scale. It sits right there in the hallway where anyone and everyone can see! Ugh. My doctor and I talked for a while yesterday. I hadn't seen him in over a year, so there was lots to catch up on. He asked if I've been depressed and I said, "ONLY ABOUT GETTING THIS EXTRA WEIGHT OFF!" He then says, "I remember when you were that skinny girl walking into my office, you can do this."

I'm glad someone remembers that girl.

I haven't been able to workout in over two weeks, since Amelia has been sick. I'm just not going to have someone else take care of my baby while she's sick, so that I can go lift weights and run on a treadmill. I want to be the one taking care of her. Though as soon as she and I are both better, I have to start back. I need it. I also need a manicure/pedicure/eyebrow wax - BAD! Maybe that will happen this weekend.

I do get on my iPhone and read a few blogs when I can, but I'm so behind on blogging/reading/commenting. I'll hopefully catch up soon!

I hope you're all doing well!!

Love to all,

Thanks for checking in. I've been praying for Amelia. Hugs to her mommy.
Goodness her tummy really didn't like those drugs.
I hope your headache goes away. I did a prescription sinus rinse a few weeks ago and it caused a horrible migraine that required a trip to the ER. I"m anti-ER (yuck, germs)! So I feel for you.
I totally understand not being able to hit the gym while children are sick. I've rarely gone this summer because of the same reason. Hugs to you.
It's so hard being a mommy when the kids are sick so long (my youngest gets sick easily and regularly)....sometimes I feel like I"m going (or have) lost my mind. My weight has piled on because of emotional eating for the said reasons. Depressing.
I'm right there with you on the scale thing....GRRRRRR.
Hugs to you.
You are a beautiful woman and mother...and a number on the scale has nothing to do with that or the ability to change that.

I have gone through mommy bootcamp several times in the last 2 years, so I can relate. I just keep wondering when I'm going to feel like I have this whole thing figured out!

So sorry about the headaches. I went through that for about a month in college. It ended up being a combination of stress and a sinus infection. A z-pack and spring break cured me! Ha!

Oh girl, y'all have just had a rough time lately. I'm so sorry and I pray that things get back to normal very soon. Also pray that headache is GONE!

P.S. You are beautiful. End of story.

Love you!

Oh girlie. You know I feel you on the headache. Please, please go away migraine. I will pray for that. And DO NOT worry about that scale!!! That sweet baby girl is the priority and the weight and the rest will come in time! I had a stretch like that last winter when AK had RSV and an ear infection and I didn't leave the house for like a month! It was frustrating but like you said....you know you want to be the one taking care of her. That's what being a mommy is all about. You have the rest of your life to workout and be on a treadmill!!! :) At least that's what I tell myself!

P.S. If this sickness stuff continues much longer, I am gonna have to drive down there and deliver you a Sonic drink pick-me up!!!! :) Love you!

Seems like every once in a while we go through boot camp at our house too, although ours has been related to teething. Lots and lots of teeth at our house.

How exciting that Amelia crawled! Yeah!

I hope you get some sleep and rest this weekend.

YAY for crawling!! It gets more fun everyday as they learn new skills. I hope the headache is better, and don't feel bad about taking some time for your baby when she needs you so much. Workouts will be there tomorrow (coming from the queen of excuses when it comes to working out).

I'm so behind on commenting, but I'm glad things are getting better...even if at snail speed. Seeing your beautiful daughter crawl brought a big smile to my face. So thank you for that great moment! I hope the headaches improve soon. And for the record...you are one of the most beautiful people I have been blessed to meet here through blogging. Both inside and out. xoxo sara
