28 weeks...

Baby girl is getting big! :) Here's what she is up to this week.

She weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through my womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

My next doctor's appointment is in 4 weeks and then I will start going every 2 weeks. We hope to get a lot finished in her room next week. Alex has been out of town on business. Before he left he told me that when he returns, he promises to spend as much time on A's room as he has spent on this project for work. We've been talking on the phone every evening and last night, he told me that he can't wait to get her room finished and for her to be here. He's getting excited about meeting his baby girl. Awwwwww..... :)

The paint is bought, and ready for Daddy to get started. The fabric is bought and the seamstress has started on her bedding...it should be completed in 2-4 weeks. I'm still trying to find a chair. I thought I had found one, but I wasn't sure on the fabric and to be honest, I just can't bring myself to pay $600-$800 on a chair for her nursery. So I'm still shopping for something more affordable, but that won't compromise the design of the room. (LOL) I have this picture in my head of what I want it to look like. We'll have to wait and see if I can make it happen. :)

Fall is fast approaching. September is here!! I've been praying that summer would leave and the past few days have been so nice for this pregnant mama! So thankful for that.

Love you guys!!

I didn't know that she would already be developing eyelashes. Ti was born 4 weeks early and he didn't have any eyelashes. I just assumed it was because he was early. Now he has really long ones. I am sure the room it going to be beautiful.

Pretty lady!!

I wasn't sure we use a rocker/glider, and we didn't for the first 4 months or so. Once she started sleeping in her own room, the chair is a must. It's become part of our bed time routine and we read 2 books in it every night. Love it! I hope you can find something you like - it's hard, and even if you have to compromise a little - it's so worth it!

About the Brentwood baby swing you asked about...I love it!!! It is great because he is 3 months old and still has lots of room to grow in it. Some of the swings are only really made for itty bitty babies it seems. I imagine you would have to get a little headrest for an infant though, but that is doable. I also love the music it plays, it sounds really good actually and he seems to love it. It also looks nice in a room, instead of looking too babyish. I havn't noticed any problems yet...I will let you know if something comes up that makes me change my mind though.
