Amelia Meets The Duggars!

Alex has been sick...he has a bad stomach bug. Ick. He went to the doctor yesterday and they said he's contagious, so he has to stay away from Amelia. I would just like to say right now that I admire any single parents out there. It has only been a couple of days and I'm tired. Alex helps with Amelia a lot when he gets home from work and I miss that help terribly. Of course I feel sorry for Alex...he has lost almost 10 lbs in the last few days because he can't keep anything on his stomach. :( If you think about us, say a prayer that this nasty bug will go away and stay away.

Amelia and I decided to get out of the house and run some errands yesterday. We needed to pick up Alex's script from the pharmacy, so we headed to Wally-World. I have no idea why I use Walmart pharmacy...they take FOREVER! We were in the store for an hour - waiting on scripts to be filled. Seriously. So while we waited, we did the only thing there is to do - we shopped! So anywho, back to my story. I turn the corner to head towards the baby section and who do I see right there on the pringles aisle?

The Duggars!

I stopped in my tracks and went all star-struck on them. They stopped and just smiled and waited for me to get over myself...just stood their patiently. I went over and immediately started rambling on about so many things. It's like I couldn't stop talking. So embarrassing. I remember telling them that we love their show and to please continue because it's the only clean thing to watch on tv. It really is. Jim Bob noticed Amelia in the cart and I said, "yes, we only have one child." He responded with, "well we started with just one and look at us now!"

If only I were that fertile. :)

They were just the sweetest couple...exactly like they are on the show. And they look so young for having 19 children!! Guess that's what clean livin' will do for ya. I couldn't pass up asking them to take a picture, so their daughter Jill took one for me. I told her to make sure to get Amelia in the pic too. That's Amelia over there in the cart. (LOL) So yesterday was the day that Amelia met our favorite tv family, The Duggars! I know a lot of people have different feelings about their family. I for one love them and think they are just precious.

We need to pray for their newest baby girl who is still in the NICU, she arrived 15 weeks early. I'm sure it's going to be quite some time before they're able to take her home.

Love to all,

Wow! That is so cool! I love them too! Such gentle and genuine people...more of what this world needs for sure!

When was there baby born? Have they televised it because I don't remember hearing that she had given birth. I'll definitely remember them in my prayers.

Anyhow, that is just plain cool.

:) Okay I'm so happy for you, but a little hurt that now I'm not the only one. Ha! Aren't they just so sweet. I'm glad you got all star struck and rambled too. At least I wasn't the only one there. I'm jealous you got a picture. I should have just ignored the husband's orders. :)

Oh it's so good to see that they are out and about. I hope that Josie is doing alright. I'm thankful that Michelle is well enough to be out.
Thanks for posting the picture.
I hope that Alex gets feeling better fast. Hugs to him.

My hubby is traveling this week, so I get the rare feeling of single parenting and I just want hubby home. i appreciate the extra hands.

NO WAY!!!!! That is SOOOOOO cool! Michelle looks great for just having Josie. (BTW- You look gorgeous, too....love that dress!) I am so pumped that you got to meet them and take your picture! And the single mom thing is HARD....I dread Todd's game nights for that same reason. Praying Alex feels better soon!
OH- and I used to use Wal-Mart pharmacy, too, and then I had to switch after Connor was born because they just took TOO LONG! :)

Jill, you are so cute! I love your reaction because I would probably be doing that on the inside and would always kick myself for not getting a picture, so kudos to you! That's a really good story too. Now, if I could only manage to run into Denzel Washington...ha!

How awesome is that. We live about 20 minutes from their house. I drove by it when I took my dog to the breeder. That almost like meeting them right? lol. She spoke at our church once to the women. I was sick that day and didn't get to go. :(

That is amazing. I love the Duggars! It's great that you were able to get a pic as well. I would of forgotten. Sorry to hear that Alex is sick. I know the single parent thing to well. I do it 3-4 nights a weeks when Cody is working and it stinks. I'm so grateful for the weekends when he's home. Hope Alex feels better soon. And I'm still in awe that you got to meet the Duggars.... to cool! :o)

I love it. I admire the Duggars for not caring about this world's philosophies regarding children. Children are still "the heritage of the Lord" and "blessed is the man whose quiver is FULL" They just have a very large quiver - LOL!

I have never watched The Duggars-but how fun for you to meet them!

WOW...pretty Awesome! We were just wondering about the new Duggar baby girl the other day. Abby LOVES their show even more than we do! We have the 1st season on dvd. She actually chose to take it to her last Dr visit and watch while having tests run. We hope Alex is feeling better!

You are so cute, I love this post! I would be totally star struck, too. I ran in to Troy Aikman at a restaurant in Dallas once and stood there stammering and shaking like a moron. I wish I had been smart enough to stop and ask for a photo!
*hugs*

What a hoot! Who knew Walmart could be so exciting?

I cannot imagine having that many children (except in a classroom!), but I do marvel at her fertility. Women like us just can't relate.

What a fun memory to have!
