Toyland...

It has been a very uneventful day. Exactly the way I prefer Mondays. We're always exhausted from the weekends.

This is a random post about toys.

Uncle Andrew gave Amelia her first glow worm. She wasn't too sure about it at first...

She wasn't sure if she could trust the thing with the glowing face...

Then she warmed up and they held hands...

Within minutes they were giving each other loves...

And now they are best friends and spend lots of time together.

We bought baby girl a bumbo and she is doing really well...

She likes it.

She REALLY likes it.

Someone is teething. The slobber is out of control and we've bought every teething "ring" out there. She really likes this fish. Side note: Amelia rolled over last week from her back to her stomach! YAY!! :)

I really want Amelia to play the piano. We've already started piano lessons and she is doing very well.

And I have a question for you guys. Amelia tried one of these exersaucer thingies at play group and seemed to enjoy it. Did you buy one of these for your kiddo? I'm shocked at how much baby toys are...these run about $80 and go up from there. Just curious if you bought one and if your baby used it much. I'm thinking of getting her one of these and a johnny jump up that goes in the doorway. Thoughts?

And here's a little peek at Amelia's Easter pictures. My Uncle took some of her and I think they turned out so cute. I look at her and honestly can't believe she's mine. And I know I'm totally biased, but I think she is just a living doll. Every parent should think that about their baby. :) Thank you for the pics, Uncle Kevin...I LOVE them.

Have a great week, y'all!

Love to all,

Oh my heavens!!! She IS a living doll. I love every picture you post of her but that last one is to DIE FOR!!!!! AAAHHHHH!!!! What a sweet, sweet girl!

As for the toy recommendation, I would say the exersaucer is worth it...esp. once they start rolling and moving around, it keeps them entertained and in one place while you shower, etc. Plus, both of my kiddos just loved it!!! Neither of them used their jumper as much, but we definitely got our money's worth from the exersaucer.

go with the jumperoo! its awesome you will use it as long as she allows :) Faith starting crawling at like 5 months so she doesnt want to bounce anymore but every so often she loves it still! check out craigslist and grage sales though way cheaper cuz they are EXPENSIVE!

Those little jeans are too cute! She's adorable. When my girls were babies we went old school and got a walker and my girls went all over the kitchen, I'm not sure if they even sell those anymore, but I know alot of gals that use the exersaucer and love it. Good luck!

I LOVE the bow in her hair...I don't see those often on her. She is beautiful. Borrow both of those things...
They are great, but there is no reason to buy them. My kids didn't like the jumper in the door, but they liked the Fisher Price jumper that looked like an exersaucer on top and was free standing. They didn't like the jumper in the door because there is no toys attached to it. It is kind of boring. :)

I'll go ahead and agree with previous comments. We have both fisher price jumperoo and an exercauser (one was a loan from a friend who needed a place to store it) - Anyway, my son LOVES the jumperoo much more than the exercauser! I got mine on Craig's list for $45 - much much more reasonable than buying brand new!

ADORABLE!!!

Katherine LOVED her jumperoo and her exersaucer. Fortunately, my sister gave me both of those items after my nephew no longer used them. She had gotten them second hand off Craigslist. I highly recommend both items - especially if you don't have to pay full retail price!!

I used an exersaucer with all of my kids. I got one for a shower gift. They don't use them long so if you can borrow one from a friend I think that is the way to go.

LOVE the photos. Love Love Love! They are so good and she is so beauuuuutiful!

L absoltely loved her FP jumperoo. I was all hard core about buying everything new but I recently found a really cute resale shop in our area and I am amazed at the quality of stuff they have for such great prices, like 1/2 off original retail. And seriously? People like me take their stuff in and I always keep L's stuff in immaculate condition so I know that place has really high standards. I wouldn't buy reused clothes, but the bulky stuff is definitely worth it, in my opinion. We never tried the exersaucer, but I bet you can't go wrong with either. I do remember reading in Baby.Bargains that the door frame jumpers are not considered to be very safe for many reasons. (for what that is worth)

craigslist is wonderful I got my exs son a exersaucer, jumperoo and a walker for free. they were in great conditon and clean as well. My moms works in daycare with infants and said she didnt like the exersaucers that have alot of toys because its hard to put the babys in and out of them just keep that in mind if you buy one.
I love the pic she is a doll baby!

We have a rainforest jumperoo that we borrowed from a friend. Josiah LOVES it! He keeps him entertained for up to an hour or more at a time, and he's been in it for the last 4 months. It would be worth every penny if we had to go back and pay for it. Craigslist does have them for much cheaper than retail. We also have a door jump-up, but Josiah's never liked it on the random days we try it out. I think he would if he was in the right mood, but the jumperoo has so many toys and turns around and bounces too. I think he'll be able to use the jump up when he out-grows the jumperoo, though.

My son is the same age as Amelia (born on 10/23, so almost exactly!)and we have an exersaucer for him and he loves it. We used a 20 percent off coupon from BabiesRUs; so you might look for a coupon if you decide to buy one.

She is just too cute for words!!! As a mom, my girls loved the exersaucer, but I really limited how long they were in it. Really only used it when I was in the shower or cooking and I pulled in front of the bathroom door to keep on eye on them. I did get them used the pack and play for that as well because once they outgrow the exersaucer you will need something to put her in to be safe so you can shower, etc. As an EI teacher, the exeresaucer and especially those jumperoos are not that great on the hips so they really should be used on a very limited basis and most PTs would tell you not to use them at all. The jumperoos are thought to put too much stress on hips and knees when they bounce off of the floor. Just my opinion. If you wanted one or the other, I would say the exersaucer is a better choice. Good luck...all of those gadgets are fun but pricey!

We used our exersaucer all the time! It was well worth the money. It was great to put Brody in when I cooked in the kitchen. I would just put it in there with me so I could still talk to him and we could interact.

I know that a lot of the resale shops up here sell them for much less than retail and they are usually in very good condition so if there are places like that you could check in LR then you might.
