Life Lately...

We've spent a lot of time at home over the past week.  We babysat Nathaniel last Tuesday.  Amelia said she was his babysitter and could take care of him.  She followed him around and played with him the entire time.  Nathaniel loved it.  She said, "this kid is a really good one year old, I wish he could live with us all the time!"

It was after 10:30 on Tuesday morning that I decided to go in and wake Sydney.  I made pancakes - they're her favorite.  I walked in and realized she had gotten sick in the night or early that morning.  She usually sleeps until 10 or 10:30, so it wasn't unusual for her to still be asleep.  I had no clue she was sick and felt terrible!  We had to call Nathaniel's Mama to come get him and I took this girl to the doctor.  She had a nasty virus.

I read this book to Sydney while at the doctor.  When I told her the name of the book, she quickly picked up another and handed it to me. HA!  I dread taking away her paci.  She loves it so much.  We took Amelia's away for good around 2 1/2, if I remember correctly. Sydney will be saying "bye-bye pacifier" in the Fall.

Amelia had a dance workshop on Thursday morning.  Sydney was still sick, so she stayed with Papa and Aunt Joy.  They had craft time at the workshop.  Crafts are one of Amelia's love languages.

I went grocery shopping while Amelia was at the workshop.  I picked out some fresh flowers.

I have no idea what these are but they look like paper flowers.  Love them.

Sydney was feeling better on Saturday and had only been out of the house for her doc appointment on Tuesday, so we decided to get out and have some family time.

We had lunch at Big Orange.

This girl.  She overheard me using the word "observation." She asked me what it meant and it's now her new favorite word.

Her latest: "Mama, I've made the observation that you are large, I am medium, and Sydney is small!"

I gave Amelia a little gift this weekend. It's the tiniest ring I've ever seen.

She was so proud of it.  She kept saying, "my first piece of REAL JEWELRY!" ha!

We did Spring shoe shopping for the girls.  It's sandal season and they've outgrown their fall/winter shoes!  Kids feet grow so incredibly fast.  I'm thankful that Sydney has been able to wear a lot of Amelia's hand-me-downs.  It saves a lot of money.  But her foot this season is one size larger than Amelia's hand-me-downs, so we had to buy for both girls.  These little sandals of Sydney's remind me of Rainbow Brite.

Our little bunny and chick.

Sunday picture!  Awesome message and time of worship with our church family!

Amelia wore her ring to church.  It's a tiny heart centered between two flowers.

The girls played in the yard on Sunday evening.

We love this Spring weather!

I've had these inflatables in storage for over a year.  Just waiting for the right time to bring them out!

Sadly, Sydney gave both of my parents the virus.  My Dad is better but we spent the evening in the ER with my Mom.  She was so sick and dehydrated.   They pumped her full of fluids and meds and sent her home AND our baby girl woke up sick AGAIN last night.  This virus needs to GO AWAY.   I've bleached, lysoled, cloroxed, and repeat.  Not sure what else to do.  I'm ordering essential oils this week.  We're going to start using them regularly.  I have several friends who swear by them.

My sister dropped this off to me this morning.  I might have cried.  I'm one tired Mama on this Monday.

I made this chicken soup recipe for my Mama today.  She can only drink the broth but I hope it makes her feel better.  It's really yummy.

We've watched Frozen a billion times in the last week.  A BILLION.  We also took the Frozen quiz - I'm Anna.  Other than Olaf, she's my favorite.

I'm praying for wellness in our home.  I'm ready for my Mama and this little girl to feel better SOON!!

Happy Monday!

Love to all,

Sydney's 2nd Birthday: A Baby Doll Party!

We had Sydney's party on Saturday.  It was such a fun party to plan.  She loves babies - we knew that had to be the theme.

Ashley took Sydney's 2 year pictures.  She definitely captured her personality.

Baby bottle and diaper station.

The microphone recorded them singing.

We had little mooshka dolls for the girls to take home.

Baby bottle suckers for the boys.

We had some of Sydney's favorites for lunch.  Fried chicken strips.

Mac-n-cheese.

And yummy biscuits.

Aunt Joy made the cupcakes.  As always, they were delicious!

Baby doll shortbread cookies.

We try to use this quilt at every birthday party.  It belonged to Alex's Grandmother and was given to Amelia when she passed away.  It's always nice to have a little piece of her at their parties.

I just love the faces on these sweet Mooshka dolls.

I love the face on this sweet girl too.

She was watching some of her guests arrive.  She was pretty excited.

This was one of my favorites of the party...

Pictures of the kiddos with their baby dolls. They were able to take their picture home.

Sisters.

This is my new favorite toy.  I can't wait to take it on vacation this summer.  Polaroids are so fun!

Coloring a baby doll with her friend, Sadie.

I love having parties with just the girls' friends but I REALLY LOVE having all our family under one roof.

Oh this boy.  I asked to take his picture and he stops and gives me this adorable look.  He is so cute!

At one point, all of the kiddos were in the bedroom watching Frozen.  Because I'm sure they've only seen it 400 times since it came out on DVD. HA!

Changing her baby's diaper.

The birthday girl enjoyed everyone singing to her.  She even sang along.

And then blew out the candle all by herself!

Opening her gifts.

Happy Birthday to our baby doll, Sydney Faith!

We love you so much!
