Our little heirloom tomato...

This is my 19 week belly shot. Alex was making me laugh...I blame him for my joker-grin. HA!

Some research suggests that our baby may be able to hear our voice now, so we have been talking to him/her A LOT! :) The baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. The arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of the body now. The kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on the scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on the skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

I love the thought that the baby's hair is growing. Alex and I have always said that we will probably have little monkey babies. I had A LOT of black hair when I was born. Alex, not so much - but he has a lot now. HA! Alex keeps saying that if it's a girl, he wants her to look like me, but I would personally LOVE IT, if our baby had Alex's dark hair and eyes.

We find out TOMORROW if it's a boy or girl!!! This month has really flown by. We're almost half way there! As of now, most people think it's a boy. There are few of you that think it's a girl. I haven't guessed what I think it is. Mainly because I've had no feeling at all! Is that odd? A lot of my preggers friends have said, "I know it's going to be a boy." or "I know it's going to be a girl." I haven't had that. Alex keeps going back and forth...I believe his last guess was a boy. Either way, we find out tomorrow and we will be ecstatic! I want to start calling this babe by his/her name. :)

This weekend we celebrated our niece/goddaughter's 14th birthday. She's a special young lady. She loves Jesus and isn't afraid to show it. We're so proud of the young woman she has become. Alexandria, you're as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. We love you, sweet girl!

Love,

I can't believe you'll find out tomorrow! That's so exciting!!! Don't worry about having no particular inclination about the baby's gender. I really didn't either. I spent so much time thinking about it, and I really had no clue. When i thought about having a boy, I got really excited, and when I thought about having a girl I got really excited. But I didn't feel confident enough to say that either one was it. I only started leaning more towards a girl because Jesse and I both were thinking we wanted one more. However, when the tech said it was a boy, I became overwhelmed with emotion and cried tears of joy. It didn't matter that she said boy or girl. It was just the knowing- knowing that I had a SON growing inside of me. We were going to have a baby boy! And, even though Jesse had talked so much about having a girl before, he grinned all of the way home. He loves that we're having a boy!

So, don't worry about the lack of intuition about it. Just know that regardless of whatever the tech says, when you discover what he/she is, you'll be thrilled about it either way and wouldn't want it any other way.

Can't wait to hear the good news!!!

And, I'm leaning towards a boy- just because that's what EVERYONE seems to be having. I think it's something in the water... or the fertility treatments...

It was good to see you last night. Sorry I didn't get to visit much... the girls take up pretty much all of my attention! Can't wait to hear the news tomorrow! How are you going to share it?

I thought I was having a boy both times I was pregnant and already had boy names picked out but no girl names.....go figure. You know what I ended up with....we are in LOVE with what we have. We stayed up most of the night trying to nail down a name for Mili after we had the utrasound because we wanted to call her by her real name (we called her popcorn before this point in the pregnancy). She was Mili from that day on.

Can't wait to hear the news....it will be good news to you guys either way!!!!

Hey Girl...if it makes you feel any better, I just knew all along I was having a girl, and well...you know how that turned out. So mother's instinct isn't always what it's cracked up to be. And we all know, it doesn't matter. This is going to be one LOVED kiddo!fixur

I don't know where your poll is if you have one, but I'm gonna go with girl. Not real sure why. We sure do have a lot of boys on this street though, so maybe the boy vibes made it into your household as well :)

OH- and to answer your question...yes, I will go back to work in late August....but doing the show is really part-time...I work less than 8-10 hours a week normally....so it's really good. Best of both worlds....
