26 weeks & thinking about Christmas...

Third trimester is right around the corner. Is it the last month that creeps along? Because so far, my pregnancy has flown by! Though the days aren't slowing down...I am. I can't be out and about for too long or I have to come right back home and put up my feet. I had such energy at the beginning of my second trimester and it has slowly dwindled away. Sad. I still have so much to do. Alex told me to make a list and he will start helping me check things off.

I took my second glucose tolerance test (since I failed the first). I passed the first 3 tests, so I was allowed to skip the 4th and only had to be there for 2 hours. I was so relieved to pass! Not sure how I could live without McDonald's caramel sundaes. Seriously, I crave those way too often.

Want to know how our little A is growing at 26 weeks?

Well.....the network of nerves in her ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both my voice and Alex's as we chat with each other. When I told Alex this, he immediately started talking to her, which always makes me laugh until I cry. She's continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (the length of an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.
She is kicking A LOT. She kicks very low most of the time...not the most comfortable for me, but I love just sitting there watching her. It's neat to be able to SEE her kick...Alex loves it. :) My back aches most of the time now and my hands seem to be swollen upon waking up. I can no longer wear my rings. I can't say that I enjoy the aches and pains, but I very much enjoy carrying her and feeling her move around inside of me. We are constantly talking about when she arrives and wondering who she will look like. We can't wait to meet her! :)

I'm trying to think ahead and have already started my Christmas shopping. I know. It's August. But I'm a planner and I really want to be finished with my shopping by Thanksgiving. I'm the girl that is out on Christmas Eve, buying that one last present. So this will be a huge thing for me, if I can actually do it. I actually like being out in the crowds during the Christmas season, it doesn't bother me to be stuck in traffic or waiting in line. But this year, I will have a little one and I know things will be different...a wonderful kind of different. :) Last year, I had a blog giveaway of my favorite Christmas things. I'm going to do a little something different this year and I'm starting early on that as well...so stay tuned!!

I'm sure you have all been keeping up with the Rowe Family. God is certainly using this family through such tragedy...it's just amazing to me. Continue to pray for this precious family.

I hope you all have a blessed week!

Love,

Jill- Enjoying reading your blog and comparing our pregnancies!! I am sure you already know this, but keep an eye on your swelling. Edema in the legs/feet are normal, but need to be careful in hands and face! Make sure you let your dr. know and keep an eye on the bp!!! Hope you have a great week!

You look like such a doll!!! Yep, early Christmas shopping is a good idea. My 2nd little guy was due New Year's Eve and came Dec. 3rd. He was perfectly fine...just early. You never know. :)

Oh goodness- I remember when I hit that "wall" where I couldn't be up for too long without my back hurting and swelling up like crazy! It was more like 22 weeks for me. Not thaaaaat fun, but every part of it is precious when you've waited so long to have it! :) Hang in there! I did ALL my Christmas shopping last summer AND all the family winter/fall birthdays too. It was very unlike me- must have been nesting, but it was worth it!! :) You look GREAT!

How exciting! I love it when people are so grateful for the little things in life!

Good luck on getting your Christmas shopping done early! I try to have most of mine done by December...so that I can have plenty of time to make little treats and crafts and so forth during December.

Exciting times for sure! She really is getting big and it is going by very fast. She'll be here before you know it! Looking forward to seeing the progress you're making on the nursery =)

Thanks so much for your kind comments! You are just precious! And, thank you for your prayers!!!

I had a miscarriage in June, so this is our first month trying again after that. As devastating as it was, it was so comforting to see God's fingerprints all over it!! There were so many little miracles that happened, that it just lifted me up right out of sadness!

I'm so happy for you that you are pregnant!! It gives me so much hope to read about your story and to listen to your amazing love for God!!

I wouldn't be so keen on induction if I hadn't already delivered vaginally. I'd hold off if it were my first as hard as that is. Abigail was 9 days early, but it felt like more like 2 weeks b/c I just knew she'd be late. She came the night of my shower!
You don't need to order from all of them... I told them they can't go to the same house as someone else. They know Abigail already went to you :)

It must be the last month that creeps along because it is SPEEDING by for me, too! And I started getting fatigued the moment I hit the 3rd trimester so it's normal. It's so hard to not be able to do as much as you used to be able to do, but you will get that energy back. LOL!

I started Christmas shopping as well. It's just too expensive to wait any longer. I only have gotten a few little things, priced others. I can't wait to hear about this giveaway thing!

You are so smart to think ahead. You are NOT going to want to be out and about with a one month old baby over the holidays... and all the sick people that are walking around? Good thinking, mama. You are already a fabulous mother!
*hugs*
