6 week follow-up and a GIVEAWAY!!

I had my 6 week follow-up today with Dr. S. He was very pleased with my weight loss so far...30 lbs down - MANY MORE to go. My bp was normal - praise God! I will start weaning myself off the bp medicine (per his instructions) and if my bp stays down - no more meds!! My incision looks great, so my main questions were when can I start taking hot baths and exercising. I have missed taking a hot bath every night! He gave me the okay on both. He then asks me when I plan on having another baby. (LOL) I will be honest, before Amelia's arrival we really felt like we would want to start trying for our 2nd soon after. I've heard/read that you have a window of opportunity to get pregnant on your own, once you've actually gotten pregnant w/IF treatment. Whether that's true or not - I have no idea. My doctor told me that because of my endometriosis, I shouldn't wait long. I didn't think to ask how long was too long. Here's the deal...my delivery pretty much scared us out of our minds...we don't want to even think about getting pregnant anytime soon. I don't want Amelia to be an only child but I do want her to be the baby for a while. I want to love her and spoil her and soak up every minute I can with it just being her. The thought of having my kiddos less than two years apart is overwhelming to me. So we'll wait, pray, and trust that when the time is right to add to our family of 3 - we'll know it. :)

Amelia has a doctor's appointment this week. I'm thinking she's going to have to get shots and I'm DREADING it. I know that I'm going to cry. I had to spray nasal spray up her nose for congestion and she gave the most pitiful cry...I then started to cry. Yeah, Wednesday is not going to be pretty. She's getting so big, y'all. She can wear all of her newborn clothes and some of her 0-3 month. I put her first 0-3 month outfit on her last week. She looked so cute. I was just giddy while dressing her. She's like my own little baby doll! :) I sure hope she likes to shop and loves clothes as much as her Mommy. If she does - we're going to have so much fun!

Okay, so here's the deal. Being a new Mommy and starting back to work with my sis on the catering business -I haven't found the time to do the giveaways that I wanted to do. I had big plans, but once Amelia arrived - those plans went out the window! :) SOOOOOOOOOOO.......I've decided to do some gift card giveaways!! My first gift card giveaway is to one of my favorite stores. TARJAY!!
So if you could use a $25 Target gift card - just leave a comment on this post. If you don't have a blog - please leave your email address, so that I can contact you. I'll take entries until midnight on Wednesday!

Love to all,

Yay for a great check-up. You'll know when you're ready to try for another baby.
In an earlier post, you mentioned due to the mag that you couldn't remember a lot of the delivery...I think God does that for us so that we don't fear having more children.
You're doing an awesome job as a mommy and Amelia is so beautiful. And so well loved. Have a great day.

okay-down 30lbs is crazy wonderful! WOW! I'm in love with that new pic of your baby girl! What a sweeeeeetheart!! I'm with you... scared to death of my "surprise delivery" I STILL can't think about being pregnant again. We, too, are just praying... my girlies might make our family complete- we shall see. :)

How sweet you are to do a GIVEAWAY. I LOVE giveaways and FREQUENT Target-- add me to the drawing! :)

So glad to hear the appointment went well, Jill! Great job on the weight loss! That is a big question for us, too, about when to try for a 2nd one. I completely agree about them being less than 2 years apart - but, I also don't want to pay for BC when I wasted that money before. :-) Hope the appoinment goes well and you stay strong for those shots...look at it this way, you can just love on her and hold her more to make her feel better after them!!

Ok so Amelia is GORGEOUS!! I am so glad both mom and baby are doing well! I have kept up with the blog for the most part and Facebook too and glad that all turned out well! YAY for the 30lbs gone!! Such a great feeling!! Awesome that you are giving away a gift card! This season we are trying to focus more on giving and putting the Merry back into Christmas!

SO glad your appointment went good! I know I'll be one of those moms that cries when my baby gets shots too. :(. Who couldn't use a Target gift card?!? That's great!

Elaine said...

She's beautiful Jill! When my son got his first set of shots, I cried longer than he did. I've learned now, just to have a bottle on standby and he and I both can survive shots without many tears.

oooooooooooooh! One of my most favorite stores!

Congrats on the weight loss and good check up! Hope Amelia's appt with shots goes well!! I hate those but it probably hurts us just as much as it does them!

Hi Jill,
Been following your blog since your previous BFN. Became interested because I also have endometriosis, and because of that was never able to have a child of my own. I'm so happy to hear that with today's technology, they can make it possible for wonderful people like you and Alex! Congrats! I'd love to entered for your Target gift card.
PS. I had guessed baby's name and was waaaay off! I thought it would be a combo of both--Alexa Jill. But Amelia is beautiful.

Jill,
I had wondered if you were having BP issues at the end of your pregnancy, only because I had them and you looked alot like I did right before I had my son (I had gained over 60 lbs. mostly water weight). It sounds like our deliveries were about the same. I had to be induced due to BP issues. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks after my son was born because they couldn't get my BP down.(it was terrifying!)So glad you get to come off the meds, it took me about 6 weeks to come off of them, and I know what a relief that was to me, they are no fun! I'm so glad to see that you and baby Amelia are doing well. I know what you mean about not wanting to be pregnant right now, my son is 3 months old and I still break into a sweat when I think about being pregnant again. We both just have to trust the Lord that if it's his will he will keep us through another pregnancy. Oh, and I don't know if anyone told you, but it really helps if you give the baby some tylenol about 30 minutes before the shots. It really relaxed my little guy and he did fine. It really is fun dressing up our real life baby dolls, enjoy every minute of it. :)

Oh my she is precious! I don't know if that is true to have a small window of times for you to get pregnant. I have Endometriosis (stage 4) and we got pregnant without even having to think about it and it was almost 1 1/2 years after the twins were born. :) I heard pregnancy is the BEST thing for Endo so you might not have any trouble next time. We didn't and didn't even plan it! Crazy!!!!
Yes, enter me! :)
I can't wait to see sweet Amelia in her Christmas outfits! I know you have her some! :)

Jill-You make me laugh everytime I read your blogs. I can so see your face when the doc asked when you wanted to have anohter baby. I just remember going shopping with you right after I had Presley and you were buying two of some things just in the case of twins!!! You are one of the very few people that I know that is truly happy and satisfied with life. Congratulations on that beautiful baby...and yes, she is your own little doll!

I am always wishing I had a Target gift card! My little one is almost a year old, and I weigh less now than before I got pregnant (and I don't really exercise), just some encouragement for you! :)

God gave us our first child through AI. The next one we were not trying and it happened and the last on we were trying to prevent it. I personally think that the first child kinda kick started something in my body to make it easier to conceive. So who know it might be a lot easier to have your next child.

Oh my Jill.. she is getting big!! She's just too cute. Congrats on the weight loss as well. I don't think those Mommy tears ever let up as our little ones grow when they cry. I know there are tmies that are definitely more heart-wrenching than others, but never does that ease the flutter of the Mommy heart or the water fountain eyes. Hugs!

Also, I would love a Target gift card (who wouldn't with Christmas so near especially with needing to finish up some last minute shopping). And speaking of giveaways I'm having one as well on my blog in case you're interested going on until Thurs at 7pm EST. Here is the link for you: http://itty-bitty-baby-dreams.blogspot.com/

Good Luck and Happy Holidays!!
