Time...

This time of year is when I want to just slow down. I want time to stand still. Though everything about the season seems to make it pass so quickly.

I made a point this year to mark our calendar with everything we wanted to do with Amelia over the Christmas season. I knew if we didn't - our days would be filled with so many other things and we would miss out on making sweet memories with our girl.

So far we've...

-Shopped and packed shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.

Started our Advent Calendar. On-going through the month of December!

-Traveled to my parents for Living Bethlehem at their church. This was Amelia's 3rd year...we bundled her up at less than 2 months old and took her. I love that we've done this since she was born.

-Evening with Charlie Brown Christmas and hot cocoa.

Still on the list:
-Christmas at Garvan Woodland Gardens
-Make her 2011 Christmas ornament at The Painted Pig
-Build our gingerbread house
-Holiday lights in Burns Park
-Baking candy cane cookies with Mama
-Take neighbors Christmas goodies

I read a tradition this week that I love and that we plan on adding to ours as well. I've started receiving lots of Christmas cards from my beautiful friends and family. We'll take one card each night and pray for that family specifically.

None of these things cost a lot of money. Most just cost us our time. Something that's much more precious than any amount of money.

It's the most wonderful time of the year...and I plan on enjoying every single minute of it.

Love to all,

You are, without a doubt, the sweetest mommy ever. Amelia will look back on her childhood with such fondness and all because you take the time to make things special for her. You are awesome!!!!

I love that you scheduled that time in, really really wise of you. I love the traditions you've started with her, I think she will LOVE that when she's older. I need to be a bit more intentional. Definitely going to adopt the praying for the cards we get, simple and wonderful. thanks.
