17 weeks...

Yep, there's a baby in there. Here's my 17 week belly shot! :o) I was really tired in this picture. It was Sunday morning and I didn't sleep AT ALL the night before. Getting up a million times a night (to go to the bathroom) is for the birds. I think it's time for me to buy one of those body pillows, as well. I'm having a hard time getting comfy in my bed. I'm a stomach sleeper and it's getting difficult to sleep on the belly.

One of the things that I love about pregnancy...my hair and nails are growing fast and are so healthy! I love it. I've been wanting to grow my hair back out and at this rate, it will be down to my waist by November. (I so don't want my hair to my waist - LOL)

My back and tailbone have been hurting. I've allowed myself to start taking baths. I was worried about taking them at the very beginning, but some days the back pain is really bad and a hot bath seems to help. That sounded funny...I'm taking baths again. Just for the record, I never stopped taking showers! ha!

Alex and I have a big decision to make and are praying for God's leading. I won't share just yet...but you could be in prayer that we will know exactly what He wants for us in this situation.

It's the start of a new week!! I've already decided - it's going to be a good one. :)

Love you guys,

I'm a belly sleeper too. I prop my right knee up on a pillow and kinda sleep on my side, but tipped toward my tummy.
I go right back to my tummy as soon as I am able (but after baby its the boobs that prevent it ;)
And I'll be praying for y'all.

oh yeah... and I *think* the thing with baths is to just not get overheated... don't raise your body temperature. I still take baths. It helps to not fill it up ALL the way so that your back is in but not all your belly. Don't get as hot if not fully submerged.

Your picture looks very much like the one in your header. Super cute!

Don't worry about the baths. They say that you shouldn't be in a bath with the water over 100 degrees, but if you think about a hot tub being about 107, a bath at home should be pretty safe. Basically, just be aware of your own body temperature. If you start getting overheated and sweating, you should either turn down the temperature (add colder water) or get out. Sleeping is something you'll have to continually get used to as your body changes. I used to sleep on my belly more often (as well as in every other position). When I couldn't do that anymore, side sleeping became a second alternative. My hips now get really sore if I don't switch sides often enough. One side also presses on something internally that makes me burp a lot! So, I find I'm usually most comfortable on my back, but I try to prop myself up really high so that I'm not lying flat. It helps with heartburn too. The only problem is that when I turn over on my side, my neck is now kinked up! Like I said, it's a process!!!

So, 17 weeks... how much longer until you find out the gender? Are you telling everyone? And if so, will you also admit names?

poor Jill, sorry to tell you that the back pains do not get better! and i feel for you about not being able to sleep on your stomach, i think i got bruises on my sides from sleeping for several months on each side... they say the left side is the one you supposed to sleep on when pregnant but i switched back and forth to both! the body pillow was hard to use at first(there is no room for it in our queen bed!) but then i got it a little flat from using it and it was better. also something that helped me with back issues was to put an egg crate foam under the sheets and it felt very nice. Pregnancies can be very unconfortable for many of us but is all worth it, the final result: precious!

You are adorable!!!

I am a tummy sleeper too. I used two regular pillows (one to hug while lying on my side and one between my knees). At the end of my pregnancies I would also put the edge of another pillow under my side that I was sleeping on so the rest of the pillow could help support my back.

Praying for you and Alex!

OH!! You look so darling!! LOVE that baby bump!!! You really do look great! I took baths throughout both of my pregnancies...except at the very end when I couldn't climb out of the tub!!! :)
I had back pain with AK, too, and the hot baths helped. I also laid on a heating pad in my bed before I went to sleep. (After a while you aren't supposed to lay on your back so I just kinda laid on it on my side or placed the heating pad on my back as I laid on my side)
I am praying for you and your miracle baby!

You look SO beautiful!! Your hair looks great indeed. Funny, my hair was kind limp and lifeless during pregnancy and I didn't notice much in the way of growing faster but after L was born? It has grown like wildfire and is SO STRONG and healthy. So many people say you lose your hair post partum, but has not happened to me one bit!
