One of our family traditions (since before having children) is to build a gingerbread house every Christmas. It used to be just the two of us, but now that we have Amelia, it's even more fun.
My friend, Erin, told us about The Candy Cottage and as soon as I read about it, I knew this would take the place of our gingerbread house. Reasons why...
-It snaps together within seconds.
-It's re-usable.
-It can be thrown in the dishwasher when you're tired of looking at your creation.
-It's not just for Christmas...we can make a candy cottage for every holiday or occasion!
Alex (being the one that had to put the gingerbread house together every year) thought this was a genius idea.
Here are my partners - putting the cottage together and testing the icing.
I think Amelia consumed more icing than we put on the cottage. She went to bed with a belly full. We'll probably pay for that tomorrow. :)
We had icing all over us!
But boy did we have a good time!!
Love to all,
