Soccer Shoes...

I'm blessed to have a child that will play inside all day long and never complains or even asks to go outside.  She's content to color, play with playdoh, play in her room, or drag everything she owns to the living room all day long, but she's to an age where I want to take her outside to run and play.  She always loves being outside when given the opportunity.  We joke that she's incredibly sheltered because when the child sees a rock she gets so excited and says "look at the beautiful stones!!" I'm not even kidding.  She has started quite the collection of "stones" that have been found anywhere from the Cantina Laredo parking lot to someone's driveway. I find them in her bed all the time...she trys to sleep with them.  So needless to say, we need to get the child out more or she's going to have very few friends growing up and end up on an episode of strange addictions.

Sidenote: If you're reading this and you collect rocks - I take back everything I said above. Let's be friends. ;)

The sad thing about taking her outside to play is that our backyard is bare.  I'm talking not even a tree. I told Alex it's just sad to watch her run around with nothing to play with. (LOL) We bought a couple of outdoor toys last year but one was ruined by the elements and the other she has outgrown, so it's time to look for more outdoor toys.  I have a few in mind and we'll start picking them up when we can.

For now, I brought out some old soccer nets that we bought for our nephews about 8 years ago.  We used to play roller hockey every evening with them at our church gymnasium...fun times!  And now my little girl is playing with the same soccer nets!  I've mentioned how she talks about everything she watches on TV.  Well soccer is a very popular sport on Doc McStuffins, Caillou, The Berenstein Bears, etc.  Joy brought the soccer nets over and we went to Walmart to get her a couple of soccer balls.  Of course she needed a pink one. I remember Beth Moore telling a story about a little girl trying to choose what color she wanted of something and pink was one of the options.  Beth told her, "child, if pink is ever an option, surely it's the Lord's will." (HA!) I love that.

Anyway, we've gotten lots of use out of these soccer nets already.  She loves to go out there and kick the ball around.

Ready...

Set...

Score!!

I bought her some tennis shoes for outside that have velcro (so she can put them on by herself) and she calls them her soccer shoes.  I just love this age.  The things that come out of her mouth are so funny and entertaining.

Love to all,

Oh the difference between boys and girls! I think Westin has just as many toys outside as he has inside. Lol He goes outside every morning for about two hours and just plays and plays. He drives his cars and trucks through all the dirt patches that he can find. It's a great time for me to get stuff done inside but he has to have a bath as soon as he comes in because he is covered head to toe it dirt. Lol Her shoes are so cute!

So precious! Landry LOVES being outside so much and has hit the age where she asks me to go out there every single day. Only advice I can offer is DON'T BUILD A POOL IN YOUR BACK YARD. Especially if it takes up the whole yard. I would kill for a big pool-free backyard right now. Also? Invest in a sand and water table if you can! We bought one at Costco last summer and the girls LOVE IT.

Those soccer shoes are so precious!

That first picture is so cute - good job! She is such a doll baby. And, Chad said he would go out and play soccer with her when we're there =)
