Snow Day!

We woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow this morning!  Amelia woke up early to go outside.  She was just a little excited.

Sydney woke up just in time to go out with her sister.

It looks so pretty in our yard but the scene on the streets in our town is not pretty.  Arkansans are not known for their driving skills in the snow/ice.  We lose our minds and shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel of a car in times like these. (Photo from KARK)

We had to take some pictures to show Daddy.  He's going to be sad he wasn't here for this.

He's on his way home tomorrow!!  YAY!!  We can't wait to see him.

They didn't stay out long.  It was cold out there!

But Papa pulled them on the sled and threw some snowballs at them and that made their day.

We couldn't find our gloves, so we went old school and wore socks and sandwich bags on our hands.  That's the only way I ever played in the snow as a kid.

We're thankful our Papa is here to play while Daddy is away!

Making snowballs to throw at each other.

I don't think they spent even 30 minutes out there before they were ready to come in for hot chocolate.

It takes longer to get them ready than they even spend outside. HA!

We were hit with the stomach bug last week and this week.  So thankful that is GONE.  I thought I was going to die a few days ago.  It was not pretty.  I'm not sure what I would have done without family to help me for those two days.

Papa and Amelia just gathered some clean snow for snow cream.

This was my girls' first time to enjoy this tasty treat.

We liked it.

We really liked it!

Can someone please get Sydney a larger straw?

I've enjoyed this deliciousness since I was a little girl.  It's yummy!

For those wondering: Snow+Milk+Sugar+Vanilla=Snow Cream!

The girls ended their day by building a pirate snowman named Olaf.  Thanks to the best Papa in the world!!

Love to all,
