Our weekend...

Alex surprised me with an ipad mini over the weekend.

Guess who has claimed it as her own?

Seriously, I haven't even used it yet.

Alex put all sorts of games on it for the Amelia.
She loves it, but I'm trying to monitor how much time she
spends on it.  I read an article on children needing
therapy due to ipad addiction (no, I'm not kidding).

She'll no doubt need a shrink because she had me as a mother,
the last thing I need to do is add to her therapy bill.

We finished up Father's Day shopping for Alex yesterday.

Amelia pretty much spilled the beans on his gifts.

We couldn't stop laughing as she told him
"Daddy, I can't tell you your Father's Day
surprise but it's at the pottery place and it has a lion
on it because you're king of the grill."

Sydney Faith did really well on our shopping trip.
Never know with this one - she's sort of temperamental
and on top of that - she's teething. :)

She was so tired.
She never does this.
We actually took her from her carseat and put her in the stroller.
I didn't buckle her because I didn't want to wake her.
And then she fell out of the bottom of the stroller in the middle of Target.

Parent of the year, right here.

We let Alex use one of his Father's Day gifts last night.
Cedar planks for  the grill.
He grilled the best fish.
I don't like salmon but I loved this!

I made a fresh corn/tomato/fingerling potato salad
and roasted asparagus to go with the grilled salmon and cod fillets.

YUM!

Alex left at 4am this morning for Costa Rica.

This was my baby girl last night.
She HATES for her Daddy to be away.
She was talking about him going to Costa Rica
and then broke down on me.

I was doing my best to hold it together and by the end,
we were both a big emotional mess.
Just crying our eyes out together.
We miss him when he's away.

She woke up this morning crying for her Daddy,
asking if we could Skype with him.
It's definitely harder as your kiddos get old enough
to realize a parent is gone and they truly miss them.

I'm going to do my best to keep her busy this week.
I keep telling her the week is going to fly by
and Daddy will be back home!

Here they are at the airport this morning.
My nephew and Uncle are on the team as well.
Praying for God-sized things to happen in Costa Rica this week!!

Alex sent me this picture of my nephew this morning.
They were upgraded to first-class on their flight to Costa Rica.
He was talking last night about having the middle seat all the way there.
God even cares about things like the need for more leg room. :)

Here are my girls before church this morning.
Amelia woke up limping.
I have no idea what's wrong.
She'll walk on it and even jump but starts limping when she walks.
She points to her hip socket area when I ask her where it hurts.
Guess I'll keep an eye on it and take her to doctor if it continues to hurt.

We joined All Points for church this morning.
My brother-in-law brought a great message.

It was a great weekend but went by so fast!

"In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
1 Thessalonians 5:18

Love to all,

James would absolutely do nothing but play on the ipad all day long if I would let him. Seriously. We've used it as a reward if he stays in his bed all night (because he'd sleep with me every night and then I would never sleep) and I've had to SERIOUSLY limit his time even then. Crazy. So many things that we never had that I really, really think will be major issues when they're adults. Scary!

We have that same exact stroller and when my son was about 10 months old, he slid out of the stroller onto concrete. He was fine, as I'm sure Sydney is (although, I'm sure it woke her up :-/). Since that little oops, my daughter always gets strapped in now. I give you props for being able to move her from the car seat to the stroller without waking her up though!

I had to laugh when you said Sydney fell out of the stroller ONLY because I did the SAME thing when Westin was 7 months old and he slid out onto the street. It was around a ton of people and it was pretty embarrassing. :)

Praying your week flies by!
